I recently had to go to New York for a death in the family... the roots in New York run deep and I forget just how many people I'm related to until some tragedy such as this happens. I haven't seen some of my relatives in ten to fifteen years and surprisingly many of them haven't changed at all... I recognized them immediately. Their personalities and ideas haven't changed either... interesting...
I have traveled most of my adult life from major city to not so major cities...lol... My mother's brother said he wished he could do what I have done and asked what my plans were for retirement? I replied, "I'm going to get a place in the mountains in the Southwest or Northwest and contemplate the insignificance of my life compared to the world's problems...
He just looked at me???
Until then, I will not take things for granted and spend time with significant people in my life including my family...
